The “Loc-Box”
The LA-62 is a limiter/distortion effect inspired by a revered PA limiter of the 1960s. It’s an extremely aggressive limiter, holding the output level constant regardless of how hard you hit the input. It features a custom DRIVE circuit which pushes the final transistor amplifier stage, allowing you to dial in as much distortion as desired. It seamlessly integrates into various setups, either as a line-level device in the studio, or integrated into an instrument-level pedalboard.
Features
- Fully analog signal path
- Custom internal power supply raises voltages to +/-15V, allowing for high headroom suitable for line level signals
- Classic FET limiting circuit
- Variable DRIVE control increases distortion ranging from soft clipping to hard transistor saturation
- Variable two-pole low-pass filter with cutoff frequency ranging from 200Hz to 20kHz
- Independent level controls for effected and uneffected clean signal, allowing for parallel processing
- Relay-controlled true bypass with a soft-touch footswitch
- Balanced bypass: passes balanced signals in bypass if balanced TRS cabling is used
- Rugged stainless steel enclosure
